7.5 X 55mm Swiss Model 1911 Schmidt Rubin straight pull service rifle.

7.5 X 55mm Swiss Model 1911 Schmidt Rubin straight pull service rifle. Action with six shot detachable magazine has straight pull bolt with large ring safety to the rear and bolt release catch to the right side. The bolt serial numbered to the rifle. Walnut stock of new manufacture 1911 pattern has finger grooves to the forend and two barrel bands. Old service repair of plugged Swiss armourer’s pattern to a small crack to the left side of the tang. Barrel struck with various Swiss military inspection marks is serial numbered to the rifle and has a tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters with windage driftable front sight. Manufactured from new once all of the old in service 1899/96 rifles had been rebuilt to fire the new more powerful smokeless 7.5mm round the 1911’s can be easily differentiated by the pistol grip being formed as part of the butt rather than an inlet addition as was the case with the earlier 1896/11 rifles. As with all Swiss service rifles these are made to the highest standards and are a very accurate and reliable rifle firing an easy to obtain round. In very good condition with fine bore and mechanics, a nice sharp Swiss marked stock with well executed in service repair to the wrist and much original blue.
